This is the design for the contents page of 'Revolution' magazine. Like 'NME' magazine, I wanted my contents page to not look to busy, and be clear to read. I decided to have either a title or the magazine masthead clear at the top of the page, and then pictures dotted about the page with writing directly underneath each picture clearly stating what each article is about. There would also be a lot of white space on the page to make it look simple and easy to read. There would also be a section at the top left hand of the page for information about the magazine/ editorial letter or even a quote from one of the main features for the magazine. I like this idea, although it means I can't fit many stories onto the page and most likely, in most magazine the pictures would be for the features, and I haven't drawn in a dedicated section for the regulars, so It might be something I have to re design. I want the contents page overall to look similar to NME but I think I need to think of something to make it original to my magazine and perhaps something more quirky (like a background) to show of design features and make it look more interesting.
